Photos: UNMC announces development west of Saddle Creek to be called Edge District


UNMC officially unveiled the name of its new 30-acre development west of Saddle Creek Road as the EDGE District during a press conference on October 10, 2024. Standing for Explore, Develop, Grow, Engage, the name reflects the district’s mission to advance research, innovation, and community connection. University leaders, local officials, and development partners gathered alongside the backdrop of the under-construction Catalyst building to mark the occasion. The event highlighted the district’s vision as a transformational space where entrepreneurship, health science, and economic development converge to shape the future of Omaha and Nebraska.
